The Microbiology Laboratory Course Has Started
We are excited to welcome students from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering’s Microbiology course to the teaching laboratories.
The course introduces basic microbiology techniques, including staining, media preparation, bacterial enumeration, explore bacterial growth, spores, and the cycles of elements in nature.

New Opening of Biomedical Engineering Laboratory Courses
The Biomedical Engineering teaching laboratories have opened four laboratory courses this semester: Genetic Circuit Engineering Laboratory and the advanced Biomedical Engineering Laboratories 1, 2, and 3.
Together, these courses provide students with hands-on experience across different biomedical engineering specializations, combining experimental work, system design, data analysis, and scientific reporting.
The laboratories support advanced practical learning and connect engineering principles with real biomedical applications.

Faculty Opening Visit to the Teaching BioEngLab Complex
As part of the opening events, administrative and academic staff from several faculties toured the new laboratories. The visit included an overview of the space and equipment and explore future collaboration opportunities.

Launch of Advanced Teaching Laboratories in Biomedical Engineering
The Biomedical Engineering teaching laboratories play a central role in undergraduate education, offering learning experience that connects engineering theory with real-world medical applications. The laboratories introduce physiological signal analysis (ECG and EEG), electrical system design and computational medical imaging such as Ultrasound and CT. The program also integrates biomechanics, microsystems, and tissue engineering.

The Molecular Genetics Laboratory Course is Now Live!
The Molecular Genetics laboratory (134142), launched for the Winter semester, is a core undergraduate Biology course. The sessions include molecular biology techniques such as genomic DNA extraction, PCR amplification, and gel electrophoresis, and incorporate model organisms including yeast, fruit flies, and bacteria, exposing students to a broad range of genetic systems.
Students are guided by teaching assistants and laboratory staff, with an emphasis on high-quality experimentation and scientific methodology.

The Technion opened the Technion Teaching BioEngLab Complex (TTBC) in the Malat Building – an advanced, threefloor laboratory hub designed to elevate practical education in life sciences and engineering. Established as part of the One Technion vision, the TTBC provides students with a stateoftheart learning environment integrating cuttingedge laboratory infrastructure, innovative teaching technologies, and a supportive ecosystem that inspires creativity, handson experimentation, and professional growth.
